BENNETT'S TALENT SHOW

I am so proud of Bennett!!!  He has never auditioned for anything in his life.  He has mentioned trying out for solos in his choir before but always chickened out when the time came.  He was adamant about trying out for his school's talent show.  He spent a month practicing his song before his tryout.  He was so nervous about the actual tryout process.  He called me as soon as he completed his tryout and the relief in his voice was so funny.  Then, he had to wait a couple of days before he got the results.  He was thrilled when he opened his envelope to discover that he had made it!!  And the funniest part?  You should have seen the envelope.  He had it ripped completely up!

The music teacher had already warned me to watch the 5th grade girls while Bennett sang.  Oh my goodness!!!  It was hysterical!!  They were goo-goo for Bennett.    After the show was over, one of the girls came over and asked me to take her picture with Bennett.  I was hysterical because B acted so put out with have to take a picture.  I told him that I will remind him of this in a couple of years.  He will be begging the older girls to take a picture with him!!

The day after the talent show, I went to pick up the kids as usual.  One of the emcees asked me if I was Bennett's mom.  I told her yes and she replied, "one of my friend's wants to marry Bennett.  I told her that she doesn't even know him.  Do you know what she said?   She said 'I know his name and I know he can sing.  That's all I need to know!'  She's crazy!"  Oh my....that about put me over the edge.  I was trying so hard to keep a straight face but it was difficult!!

My favorite part of his performance is the death grip he has on the microphone!  So funny!  He was very nervous!
