Grace has so many pictures with looks of adoration |
Next, we headed to the Castle of Miracle where Pluto was hanging out. Now, Bennett was totally excited for this because Pluto has ALWAYS been his favorite!
Off to Magic Kingdom!!
We made a quick stop at Lost and Found and were pleasantly surprised that Craig's lost visor had been turned in. We rode the boat across today for the kids loved seeing Cinderella's castle get bigger and bigger.
Our first stop in the park was for Mickey ears. Maggie has a throw down for a Pluto hat, but agrees to just have her Minnie ears monogrammed. Bennett gets his Simba ears monogrammed. Grace chose a princess Mickey ear hat (shocking, I know) to be monogrammed. While we were waiting for all of the names to be embroidered on to the hats, we ran into Mary Poppins!
Now it was time to head to Adventure Land!! But (as Craig says) we were quickly derailed by the Dreams show out in front of Cinderella's castle. I loved watching the kids watch the show. I may or may not have teared up at the looks on their faces.
Next stop...Tinkerbell! This is when the Genie pass really was awesome. The line to meet the Fairies was about an hour long. We were able to go right in to meet Terrence and Tinkerbell.
Love this cute smile! |
Tinkerbell's exit was right by the stand that sells Dole Whip....and you can't pass the Dole Whip stand without getting one!!
We got all the way into Adventure Land and ran into Aladdin and Jasmine. Now, the week-long joke had been how D-Daddy was in love with Jasmine. Bennett couldn't understand why he wouldn't get in the picture. (We still have this as a running joke. As a matter of fact, D-Daddy got a Jasmine doll in his stocking this year!)
See? Another one. Just looking at Jasmine and trying to take it all in. |
Maggie did much better with characters who were people. |
We rode Aladdin's carpets...and Bennett is bummed because he doesn't get "spit" at by the camel. We went to watch the Tiki Room. Maggie falls asleep during the show. After the Tiki Room, we head over to the Jungle Cruise. Maggie sleeps through the whole ride and Bennett laughs at the dumb jokes. (Why is Cinderella bad at soccer? She always runs away from the ball.) We headed to Pirates of the Caribbean. Maggie wakes up when we go down the hill. Of course, being marketing geniuses, the ride ends in a store. Bennett talks us into buying him a sword (which got lost that night in the parking lot) and convinces Grace to pick a pirate gun as her treat. Now, it was time for Splash Mountain. Bennett had been looking forward to this all day! Grandmama sat this one out with Maggie. D-Daddy lost his hat on the big hill...and it is lost for good.
Before D-Daddy lost his hat. Notice I am hanging on to mine. Grace is hidden behind Craig covering her eyes. |
We trade adults and D-Daddy stays with Maggie so Grandmama can ride Thunder Mountain Railroad. (Prior to our trip, our cardiologist told us that she might pass out on rides. So, we decided that we were going to let her try whatever she wanted and actually enjoy this trip.) Grace LOVED this ride!! She rode the entire thing with her hands up in the air. She never once put them down. It was awesome!
We stopped for lunch at Pecos Bills Cafe but no one liked what was offered so we continued on our way to Harbor House...which is Craig's favorite place to eat at Magic Kingdom. We had a quick lunch so we could get to our next stop....The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
