We headed back to the Village pretty early from Universal Studios. Craig convinced Bennet and Grace to go for a swim while Maggie took a quick nap. Everyone showered and dressed in their costumes...Thing 1, Thing 2, and Thing 3 t-shirts. We didn't love what was on the dinner menu so we ordered pizza from GKTW. I took the kids down to register and for the show while the others ate dinner. We showed up to find people prepared to fix the kids hair, paint their nails, and apply tattoos to make them rock stars. Hakuna Matata wasn't on the song list, so they decided to sing Roar by Katy Perry. (This made me happy as this was their original song choice so they had practiced it several times.) Naturally, Bennett asked his girl to paint tiger stripes in his hair and Grace had to follow suit.
Then it was time to head over to take pictures with Mayor Clayton and Mrs. Merry!
We had a little bit to wait before the show started so Bennett became obsessed with rehearsing. We found a little spot and Bennett became a drill sergeant. He choreographed dance moves and when they should stand still. I was hysterical! Then came show time!! Bennett and Grace were supposed to be number 2 but the music messed up for that little girl so they ended up being the first ones on the stage. I was kind of sad by this because they were so nervous that all of their planned dance moves went out the window. I only have a short version of it that I can share, but on the video that GKTW gave us, you can see Grace looking at Bennett waiting for the moment to start dancing. It was so cute.
Get it, Grace! |
She was feeling the song! |
Here is a short clip to give you an idea of how great they did!!
Amazingly enough, for the first time in Village Idol history, everyone won!! (Bennett couldn't believe it!) So, we celebrated with a stop at the Ice Cream Palace before we headed back to the villa for pizza. Doesn't everyone eat dessert first??
We went to bed pretty early because Thursday was shaping up to be a LONG day!
